our positive story
Our brand story starts with my restlessness during 2020-21 – wanting to find a way to continue a creative travelling journey and seeing the potential for others like me to want to see, imagine and dream about future trips.
With my journalism credentials, I was able to go out and capture unique footage of hampshire in lockdown and had a vision for ourhampshire as a channel celebrating all things local and wonderful in my home county, being able to take my young family along with me for the fun and the ride.
From lockdown to liftoff – we launched the ourhampshire platform on social media in 2020, facebook and Instagram mainly, and it quickly grew an engaged audience following our adventures, then later in 2024 adding a website and blog to our platform too.
As keen travellers we, of course, love to set out on family adventures beyond Hampshire, discovering and exploring amazing spots all over the UK and abroad.
It helps that my professional work running a corporate film production company enables me to use the visual elements of our posts to bring a story-led and authentic tone to our content. It gives me such a buzz to showcase the beauty and interesting perspectives on the places we visit.
My wife is from Cambodia and we lived together there and then our first daughter was born in Cambodia. So we are global and digital natives and our inclusive, open-hearted outlook helps shape the captivating moments and memories we seek. Cambodian people are happy by nature and this is reflected in our positive outlook in our posts – you won’t find negativity and harsh criticism with us – we want our community audience to embrace our positivity – good vibes only please!
